ABOUT

Hi! My name is Megan Fisher and I am a visual journalist from St. Louis, Missouri. I am currently a Senior at Western Kentucky University in the Photojournalism program.

 

When I was 13, I began taking photos on my parent’s camera and immediately fell in love with photography. I always had a camera with me after that, whether it was my phone or a DSLR. As I grew older, I began seeing everything as though it had a story to tell, and I wanted to be the one to tell the story. 

 

As a photojournalist, I have enjoyed the genuineness of a photo story. Having the opportunity to meet new people and tell their story is exciting for me. Photojournalism has allowed me to witness and be a part of events such as protests, tornado wreckages, to the presidential election, and everything in between. I have met amazing people from getting to know them and photograph them. While I am still figuring out where I want my photography to take me, I look forward to continuing to tell the story of others and have their voices heard.

Along with photojournalism, I have found a love for graphic design. I became the Design Editor for the College Heights Herald here on WKU's campus and it has been the highlight of my time at WKU as I have gained experience with page layout and have been presented with amazing opportuinties
